One Drop and ARKit: Bringing CGM Data to Life

Nov 28, 2017

Leveraging the Dexcom API and the new ARKit framework that Apple released with iOS 11, One Drop has introduced a new augmented reality experience. Users of the One Drop | Mobile app can take their data beyond the screen and into the real world.

Take a look at what Dexcom CGM data looks like in augmented reality:

While One Drop | Mobile offers several flavors of interactive data visualizations, the augmented reality view takes advantage of the latest technology to provide users with a totally new experience. There is no one ideal way to present this type of data, and these types of experimental visualizations can help us understand what works best for each individual.

The Dexcom API opens up the exploration of retrospective CGM data in various media by providing a standard method for accessing the data. Using the API enables One Drop to perform server-side processing of Dexcom data, reducing load and preserving battery life on mobile devices.

We're excited to see what other new ideas come to life using the Dexcom API. Get started building your app today!
